The Five Stages of Settlement on the West Texas Frontier. This region experienced five stages of settlement:

COMANCHES: Settlers encroached on the Native American land. 

RANCHERS: Once Native Americans were pushed onto reservations, this land was perfect for grazing cattle.

FARMERS: Farming families followed the ranchers and established communities.

RAILROADS: This transportation connected

KIDS DISCOVERY ROOM

The Museum's Kids Discovery Center is a place for children to play through the Five Stages of Settlement on the West Texas Frontier. Explore a replica Comanche tipi, set up your own ranch, work your own farm, operate a railroad, and set up your own town.

ARLEDGE FIELD EXHIBIT (AIRPORT) EXHIBIT

With the clouds of war blowing up over Europe, America began plans to train pilots, before America was officially in World War II. Learn about how this military training facility revitalized a small West Texas town after the devastating effects of the Great Depression.

ROTATING EXHIBITS

This Gallery has a new exhibit on display monthly, so every time you visit, there will be something new. Check out these unique exhibits that tell stories about West Texas.
